LaboratorySMDTC's Research and Technology Directorate and Systems Engineering Directorate offer unique laboratories, such as the Directed Energy Systems Integration Laboratory (DESIL) and the Susceptibility Testing Operation for Radiofrequency and Microwaves (STORM) Laboratory. DESIL is a state-of-the art facility, housing instrumentation for characteristic measurement of high-energy lasers at a wide range of power levels, including power, wave-front, irradiance, and other parameters. The STORM Laboratory is designed for rapid and automated testing of radiofrequency with the goal of identifying specific coupling features and damage mechanisms at the component level.

Other unique SMDTC facilities include:
  • Aerophysics Research Facility
  • Signatures Analysis Laboratory
  • Quantum Entanglement and Space Technologies (QuEST) Laboratory
  • Digital Simulation and Analysis Center (DSAC)
  • Small Satellite Systems Integration Lab (SSSIL)
  • Air and Missile Systems Integration Laboratory (AMSIL)
