Mission

Provide timely, world-wide, cutting-edge forensic science casework and crime scene support, serve as Department of Defense’s (DoD) program manager for the Combined DNA Index System, and provide educational subject matter experts to support the DoD, Military Criminal Investigative Organizations, Federal departments and organizations, and the Forensic Science Community in criminal investigations.

USACIL is the DoD’s only full-service criminal forensic laboratory, providing  state-of-the-art forensic laboratory services to all DoD Military Criminal Investigation Organizations and other federal law enforcement agencies.

• USACIL has a cutting-edge Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Program with dedicated research scientists and research laboratories.
• Research areas directly support USACIL core competencies to ensure the laboratory has the best tools and technologies to support military criminal investigations.
